The roots of Moll Industries lie in the history of the construction company founded in Munich in 1894 by building pioneer Leonhard Moll. Over the decades that followed, the buildings Moll created using innovative technologies soon came to shape the face of the city. They included renowned cultural landmarks such as the Deutsche Museum, as well as modern residential districts and iconic industrial facilities, including the first BMW plant.
Since 1894, the name Moll has stood for quality, innovation and technical precision combined with entrepreneurial foresight.

This spirit of innovation and new beginnings in the early years laid the foundation for the Group’s later industrial orientation. It began with the establishment of Moll Rail in 1929, followed by the production of patented concrete railway sleepers in 1937. The mineral expertise developed in the construction sector was now, quite literally, cast into industrial form.
This development found its logical continuation in 1978 with the acquisition of Keimfarben. Bringing the world’s leading manufacturer of mineral-silicate façade paints under the umbrella of Moll Industries marked a strategic milestone. Since 2017, the TechnoPhysik Group has further strengthened the portfolio as a specialist in natural-based insulation materials, thermal engineering and fire protection.
Today, Moll Industries brings together extensive experience, mineral expertise and technological excellence. With our combined strength, we are working towards a common goal: continuing the success story of the companies and shaping the future of our industries sustainably and consistently.
